Chevin Road Closed Due to Work on Railway

As residents will be well aware, Chevin Road has been closed, near the railway bridge towards to top of Swainsley Bank, for nearly 3 weeks. Following the clearance of hundreds of trees from the embankment between Chevin Road and the railway by Network Rail last year, the bank has started to subside and work is needed to shore it up. Movement monitors were installed first, as can be seen in the picture below.

This was followed by covering the whole of the side of the embankment with mesh.

Close up the men can be seen hard at work fitting the mesh.
