As a resident of the village, you should be aware of our annual Milford MayDay – normally on the Saturday after the Mayday bank holiday.
For many years, the main attraction has been the procession around the village which is led by the unique Milford Brass Band. The title is deceptive as it comprises of anyone who can play anything or bang anything, and loosely play along together. Although we normally have a decent number in the band, it would be good to introduce new people and instruments into the band. Virtually anybody or anything can be incorporated, given a little notice and practice. You do not need to be a maestro – just a beginner will do – and if you can only play a few notes, we will find a place for them to fit in!
We normally start to put music together in early March 2014 but if you have an interest in being involved – or know of someone you can pass this on to – we can support and advise at an earlier stage.
Please note as this is an informal group. Any players under 18 would have to be accompanied with their parent as we do not have CRB checks etc.
For further information and a very informal discussion, please call Alan Squires on 01332 840646.
