Milford & Makeney Women’s Institute meets every first Monday of each month at Duffield Baptist Chapel, Makeney Road, Duffield at 2.00pm.
Recently 11 members of our WI and 3 visitors spent a charming afternoon at Meynell Langley Garden Centre on Monday 5th June. We were guided round the small garden by Robert who explained the various plants and gave advice. Then we were able to buy plants and go into the excellent cafe. Altogether a good afternoon.
On Monday 3rd July we went on a cruise on Cromford Canal, on Birdswood. Although we meet in Duffield, we still want to retain our identity as ‘Milford and Makeney’ so would really welcome new members.
On 2nd October our member Moira Johnson will speak to us and her topic is Buttons and Brooch Bouquets. The meeting starts at 2 o’clock and visitors are very welcome – just turn up if you are interested.
