Open Garden at Chevin Brae 19th August 2023

Chevin Brae (Morrells Lane, Chevin Road) opened its garden to the public again 1-5pm on Saturday 19th August, as part of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS, Yellow Book), with 62 visitors. There was also, as usual, tea and cake available, all baking was home made and featured fruit and jam from the premises.  The £384 proceeds from the entrance fees and tea and cake went to the NGS charities (Macmillan, Marie-Curie, Carers Trust, Hospice UK, Parkinson’s UK). There was, as usual, a plant stall with the £80 proceeds going to Blooming Milford – see their web page here for more information about their activities in the village.

The garden has certainly appreciated all the recent rain, and visitors saw much colour in the flower borders and the vegetable gardens at their best. Amazingly they got a dry day on the 19th!
