Open Garden in Milford 26th March 2022

Chevin Brae, Morrells Lane, Chevin Road, Milford will be opening its garden to the public again at 1-5pm on Saturday 26th March 2022, as part of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS, Yellow Book) with proceeds from the entrance fees and tea and cake stall going to the NGS charities such as Macmillan, Marie-Curie and Mind and a plant and jam stall for Blooming Milford. Entrance fee £3 for adults; children free.

The garden is large with extensive views of the Derwent Valley from the front and The Chevin from the back. It contains large herbaceous borders backed by rose trellises, fruit & vegetable cages, vegetable plots and flowering shrubs. This time of the year there will be extensive bulb displays, plus spring flowers (hellebores, primroses, wood anemones, camelias etc.)  Cakes, pies and jams on the stalls are all homemade on the premises using fruit from the garden.

Note the front garden is very steep with several flights of stairs.

The garden is scheduled to open formally again on 20/8/22, but can be visited by arrangement at any time. For details see the National Garden Scheme website here https://ngs.org.uk/view-garden/22752.
