Re [space] – Milford’s new cafe/convenience store now open

Jon and Jill Needle, outside Re [space], Milford’s new cafe/convenience store which opened on May 7th 2018

On May 7th, Jon and Jill Needle re-opened Milford’s store.

However, as you’ll discover, it’s more than a store.

It’s also more than a cafe.

Jon – who bought the old Co-op building for his business Derwent Hydro (which operates on the lower floor), decided along with his wife Jill, to revive the upper floor space.

Together – and under the managership of Haeri Jung – they have created Re [space].  The name alone is intriguing, and the space is individual and re [freshing]!

Georgie Whitehouse, Haeri Jung and Michelle Hyde are here to serve you at Re [space]

Take time to read Jill’s vision statement… and take time to pop over, say hello… and help support the re [generation] of our old store.

As the photos show (more below), Jon and Jill have worked hard to create something special and inviting.

First-day visitors were very impressed as these comments show… ‘Very attractive layout’… ‘I love the retro design’… ‘Milford really needs this so I hope it catches on’…’I can see this becoming a community hub – it ticks so many boxes’… ‘I don’t know how they’ve done it but it looks more spacious than I remember it’.

Re [space]

We are excited about opening a place called Re [space].

The [space] is because we hope it will be different things to different people at different times…. Refresh, Revisit, Remember, Recall, Restock, Replenish, Refill, Relax…fill in your choice,

all these things & more!!!!

A space for ‘Re[     ]’   in any good sense of the word!!!!

We are hoping it will be something the community will like!

A friendly place for everyone.

A small shop, Re[store],

providing basics, the things we need regularly or run out of –

 bread, milk and wine….

We hope the shop could Re[act] to your needs.

A café, Re[fresh]

a change of scenery,

a place to meet up with friends,

a place to find new friends.

Coffee – cake – tea –  teacake.

A meeting place Re[union].

We are exploring Retail opportunities

maybe use the venue for pop-up shops and bespoke retail items

maybe have designated times with a focus for special interest groups – needlework?

A Re[play] area with beam projected games for the young, or at other times a musical or literary event.

Another hope is that Charities may benefit….

a percentage of profit to be pledged on an ongoing basis

… with a focus on particular charities at particular times…..

The possibilities are great & exciting….watch this [ ]!!
