Starving for Art recently staged a superb evening of music in Holy Trinity Church.
It was the third fundraiser at the church to be arranged by this East Midlands-based group of musicians and singers, featuring artists from jazz, folk and classical genres.
Although the attendance was slightly down on the previous concert, there was an increase in Milford & Makeney residents present – and over £500 was raised for the church.
Webmaster Ashley Franklin attended the concert and said: ‘I was completely bowled over by the professionalism of the performers. Whether they were singing folk, classical jazz or gospel, the quality was exceptional.’
See below for a gallery of photos from the concert.
Already, Starving for Art is looking ahead, as Gary Johnston of the group explains: ‘Next year I would like to stage another concert but also create the Milford & Makeney Players for anyone who wants to have a go at treading the boards or, of course, have already trod the boards! Maybe we could have fun putting on a play or pantomime in 2015 for the local community. I know I can rally support from experienced actor friends of mine to help. What do you think?
