Strutt Arms reopening on 15th November

Following the article from the Derby Evening Telegraph announcing the new plans for The Strutt Arms, the new owners have just announced they will be re-opening the venue on Tuesday 15th November. It will then be open every day from 12pm to 11pm, with food served from 5pm (and all day at the weekend). There will be 30% off all food in the opening week, until Sunday 20th November.

The pub downstairs will now be called The Elephant and Peacock (the signs are going up on Monday 14th November), with the accommodation upstairs still known as the Strutt Arms Hotel.

The new owners wish to emphasise that it is still very much a pub, but one that now serves authentic home-style Indian food. They’ve redecorated the interior, to give a warmer and more inviting air. A preview of the decor is shown below.

On one wall they’re also providing some information on the building, Milford and the Strutt family, which they hope visitors will find interesting and they spoke to local historian Jane Whitaker.

The new owners feel the whole offering – food, drink, ambience – is a significant improvement on what was there before but they will leave that for others to judge!
