Wassailing – Sunday 12th January 2020 15.00

Want to come a-Wassailing?  Join in on Sunday January 12th.

Wassailing is an ancient tradition of singing and drinking in an orchard to the health of apple trees in the winter, in the hope that they will survive the cold and produce a bumper crop in the following autumn.

It was normally practised in the traditional apple and cider producing counties in the south west of England, but we have revived the practice here in Milford & Makeney too.

Last year over 50 people attended and it’s great fun!

If you’d like to attend this year, meet at the Holly Bush Inn on Sunday 12th January 2020 at 3.00pm. Bring stout footwear and a strong voice!

Music and song afterwards at The Holly Bush.
