Many people in Milford were woken to the sound of chainsaws and wood chippers from midnight to 4am on Sunday 19th January.
The cause was Network Rail felling and chipping trees along the railway line between the Chevin Road bridge and the Chevin Tunnel. The reason for the unearthly hour was to minimise disruption to rail services. The end result of the felling can be seen below.
