The Derwent Valley Heritage Trust is organising treasure hunts over the weekend 9th-10th July to encourage more people to walk the Derwent Valley Heritage Way. The Way runs along the Derwent for the entire 55 miles from Ladybower Reservoir to the River Trent, and goes through Milford and Makeney via Wildersley Farm – Shaw Lane – Dark Lane – The Holly Bush – Makeney Road and Duffield Bank. It is well signposted and features on OS maps and OS map Apps. This weekend though just the section further north will be featured, running from Whatstandwell to Belper via Shining Cliff Woods and Wyver Lane, and should be fun for all the family – see poster below for details.
