Here are some recent comments by customers:

‘Fairly priced, good breakfast and a good place to base yourself for days out. Nice evening meals, friendly staff, a range of room styles and a nice lounge to relax in’ – Paul L, Trip Advisor, Feb 2021

‘The décor in each room was utterly splendid and the setting and the grounds were lovely. The wonderful customer service was the cherry on the cake. I wish more hotels embodied this spirit. A welcome change from the usual commercial chain enterprises.’ – Claire, Trip Advisor, No 2020

The Strutt Arms

Set towards the south of the village on the A6 opposite the junction with Chevin Road, the Strutt Arms was built by The Strutts in the early 1900’s to accommodate business visitors for their mills, which at the time loomed over the building on all sides. For several years in the 2010’s the building was closed, but was reopened in 2019 after a million-pound renovation including the accommodation rooms upstairs.

There are 7 rooms available, all refurbished to a high standard, offering comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation in the centre of the village. To book rooms click here.

Meanwhile the pub downstairs was renovated in 2022 to offer high end Indian food as well as a traditional pub, and was renamed the Elephant & Peacock. See here for article.
