Chevin Brae (Morrells Lane, Chevin Road) opened its garden to the public again 1-5pm on Saturday 2oth August, as part of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS, Yellow Book). Despite the recent scorching weather there was still colour in the flower borders and the vegetable gardens and orchard were full of produce. 67 people came and the proceeds from the entrance fees (£201) and tea and cake stall (£164, total £364) went to the NGS charities (Macmillan, Marie-Curie, Carers Trust, Hospice UK, Parkinson’s UK). There was also a plant and jam stall for Blooming Milford, which raised £82.50. The cakes & jam were all home made and featured fruit from the garden. Thanks to all those who attended – your support is very welcome.
The garden is scheduled to open formally again in March and August 2023, but can be visited by arrangement at any time. For details see the National Garden Scheme website here https://ngs.org.uk/view-garden/22752.
