Donna Stanton, senior nurse at the Milford House care home, on hearing that Milford had been entered into the Britain in Bloom competition, was inspired to have Milford House be part of it. In the garden of Milford House are 5 large, sturdy wooden raised beds in the shape of petals. These had become overgrown, and she thought a great project to engage the residents would be to clear these and plant them up with bedding and vegetables.
In March the beds were cleared, with the help of the residents, as can be seen in the pictures below.
By July the garden had been completely transformed as the video below clearly shows.
