As most residents of Milford know, the village would not exist in its current form if it had not been for Jedediah Strutt and his descendants. A new book on the Strutt Mills is now available, written by volunteers from the North Mill. It’s full of information about the Strutt family, the innovative construction of the mills, the use of water power, the lives of the workers, and much more. Milford features heavily in the book. It’s available from the Mill during opening times on Wednesdays and Saturdays, or locally from the King William pub, at a cost of £8.
