Chevin Brae, Morrells Lane, Chevin Road, Milford opened its garden to the public again at 1-5pm on Saturday 25th March 2022, as part of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS, Yellow Book). Despite the variable weather – there was literally a shower every 15 minutes – it was well attended, with 83 visitors. The entrance fees and tea and cake stall raised £484 for NGS charities such as Macmillan, Marie-Curie and Mind and the plant stall raised £171.50 for Blooming Milford. Thanks to all those who braved the weather and attended, you made a big difference.
The house owner, David Moreton, was worried 3 weeks ago that the daffodils may have gone over by the time of the opening, but the snow of a fortnight ago slowed them down, and in the event they were just right, as the photos below show.
Visitors were also treated to lovely displays of hellebores, hyacinths and camellias.
The garden is scheduled to open formally again on 19/8/22, but can be visited by arrangement at any time. For details see the National Garden Scheme website here https://findagarden.ngs.org.uk/garden/22752/chevin_brae
