Inspired by the juice produced for the Chris Ring Apple Day last year, Bridge View Allotments are organising the BIG MILFORD APPLE PRESS this year! If you’d like to turn your apples into delicious pasteurised juice and raise money for the upkeep of the allotments, please take part!
The allotments have booked a slot at Alf Hingley’s apple press at Ash House Farm in Windley on 24th September.
There will be 2 apple picking Work Parties on the allotments on Sunday 13th and Sunday 20th September, both at 1pm where we be picking apples off the big trees at the back of the fire pit and (if there are any apples left) the trees by the church. But at these dates if you have any apples from your own gardens/allotments you’d like to donate, please bring them along too. If you can’t make these dates, please bring them to my house (Chevin Brae, Morrells Lane, Chevin Road, Milford) before the 24th September.
Ideally a mix of 70:30 eating/cooking apples gives the nicest flavour juice
