Despite the foul weather, the Christmas Fayre at The William on the 7th December 2024 was a great success. In one end of the pub there was a Christmas wreath making workshop (picture below).
In the other end of the pub there were stalls selling mince pies, jam tarts, jam, piccalilli, spiced nuts, Christmas crafts and bird boxes with proceeds all for the upkeep of Bridge View allotments. Local honey was also for sale, proceeds towards the renovation of Chris Ring’s beehives.
The pub provided bacon and sausage cobs for donations, and allotment holders Gary Johnstone and Rob Lennox made everyone feel festive with their Christmas sing along.
There was a Mince Pie competition won by new allotment holder Mary Cole (who is American – puts all us Brits to shame!) More pictures in the Facebook post here.
All in all Bridge View Allotments raised £476.57 and the Chris Ring hive regeneration fund £60, so a great success.
Bridge View Allotments would like to thank everyone who contributed making goodies for us to sell and gave up their time to help out, the King William for hosting and of course everyone who braved the awful weather and came along to support us.
