Chevin Brae will be opening its garden on Saturday 22nd August 2026 1pm – 5pm as part of the National Garden (Yellow Book) Scheme (NGS). Come and see the late summer border flowers and the fruit and vegetable gardens in their prime. Also, for previous visitors, there is a new large garden extension since March, featuring an extension to the flower borders, a large flowering shrubbery and and 50 yards of new dry stone wall.

Entrance fees are £3 per adult; children and dogs (on leads) free. There will be refreshments available, all home made, featuring fruit and jam from the garden. Proceeds from entrance fees and refreshments go to the National Garden scheme charities (Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Parkinson’s UK and others). There will also be plant, jam and bird care ceramics stalls – proceeds from these to Blooming Milford (see here for details).
Parking is limited and visitors should try to park on Chevin Road, or if local, walk. The garden should be well signposted from the A6 and The Chevin on the day. Note the front drive is very steep and is followed by 2 flights of steps before you enter the main garden. As such, the garden is not suitable for those with mobility issues.
Below is a selection of photos of the day taken last year by Alan Carr.
