Meet your Police and Crime Commissioner Online

People living in the Amber Valley area are being invited to meet Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa in a special virtual event to discuss crime and policing.

The Commissioner will shine a spotlight on the work he is undertaking to improve safety for local people and highlight some of the key achievements over the past 12 months.

The virtual event, which is free, will take place on Wednesday 17th February between 6pm and 7.30pm and will enable residents to raise any concerns about crime or policing in their district as well as learn about how partners are working together to increase police visibility and support victims of crime.

Attendees will also hear updates on the Commissioner’s forthcoming budget and the recently-launched Operation Derbyshire, which aims to highlight the good work going on to address top priorities for the public including speeding, antisocial behaviour and rural, wildlife and heritage crime.

Mr Dhindsa said: “Some of the most exciting improvements I’ve made since being elected as PCC have been instigated by our communities and I cannot stress how valuable my engagement events are for unearthing and solving local issues.

“Over the last few years, we’ve really listened to what people have told us and have responded positively to issues that impact on quality of life and public confidence. I’m determined to keep the conversation going which is why I’ve launched a series of virtual events across the county to safely exchange views and present some of the good work already happening to improve lives.”

Virtual events have been scheduled to take place across Derbyshire over the next few weeks. All of the meetings will run from 6pm until 7.30pm and tickets will be available via Eventbrite.
